Regional CTE Development Meeting for State CTE Master Plan

March 29 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm PDT

Master Plan for Career Education Regional Meeting Interest Form: Inland Empire
How would you improve economic mobility in California?

The leaders of California’s education and workforce agencies–working with employers, labor, and community partners–are developing a set of big ideas for creating more equitable access to living wage, fulfilling work. They need your input to identify specific changes that are needed to policies and practice so that we can open up opportunity for more Californians. This collaborative effort will result in a new Master Plan for Career Education.

On March 29, 2024, Inland Empire regional leaders, in collaboration with the Governor’s Office and WestEd, will be hosting a day-long, interactive design session in San Bernardino, where you can share your ideas about ways to:

Create state and regional coordinating bodies that make it easier to access information, funding, and support
Align K-12, postsecondary, and workforce training opportunities so it is easier to build skills in a variety of settings

Create incentives and improve coordination so that more people can participate in hands-on learning

Make it easier to access public benefits so that learners can afford to participate in education and training

The design session will be structured so that you can identify how your day-to-day experience could be better addressed by state and regional policies, particularly for:

people who work in K12, adult schools, and colleges

people who work for workforce and economic development training providers

employers

labor representatives

community-based and advocacy organizations that represent populations such as opportunity youth, first generation students, adult learners, people with disabilities, immigrants, and other disadvantaged and underinvested populations

technical assistance providers

students and families

These design sessions will run approximately 6 hours, and will include continental breakfast and a box lunch.

Please note: this form indicates your interest in being a participant in the design session. However, submission of this form does not guarantee confirmed registration for the event, given that we have a limited number of seats.

Interest form submissions will undergo a review process to ensure that we have representation from the various types of interest holders listed above. Two weeks before the event, a link to the registration will be emailed to 150 people to confirm their participation. If you are unable to join the event, you can still contribute your thoughts, by submitting your written recommendation or requesting a meeting with a Governor’s Office representative here https://careereducation.gov.ca.gov/master-plan-engage/.
