This session is the first in a sub-series of three Open Educational Resource (OER) sessions. Each session builds upon the last and it is highly recommended that the OERs 101, 102, and 103 sessions are scheduled as a progressive series. All may be scheduled as stand-alone sessions upon request.
This session, provides an introduction the basics of Open Educational Resources (OERs) and how they can be the answer to drive students to register for courses and help them persist in class.
Participants will get an introduction to the basics of OERs, what are they, how they can be found, and how to attribute resources that will be used. Working together with the facilitator, search strategies will be developed and refined, open licensed materials will be identified, OER repositories shown, and a brief introduction to some management tools for resources.
Prerequisites
All participants must have basic computer and Internet skills and a valid email address. Additional requirements may apply depending on the type of session.
