This session is part 3 of the series “OERs: Open Education Resources.”
Everyone will get a closer look at how OERs are different from free resources available on the wacky wild web. Topics will include Creative Commons licenses, Public Domain, and Copyright. Participants will be shown tips on what to look for and how to familiarize themselves with identifying OERs to assist in avoiding copyright infringement. A best practices toolkit will also be provided. It is highly recommended that participants have attended either “OER’s for Adult Education” or “OER’s: Demystifying, Finding, and Using.”
Prerequisites: Participants should have a good foundational understanding of word processing and presentation software as well as being comfortable in basic computer skills and navigating the Internet.
