Meeting Learner Needs with Open Educational Resources
January 10, 2018 @ 1:45 pm PST
As the adult education landscape changes, so do the needs of our learners. For many learners, educational barriers can include high cost of courses, materials fees, textbooks and other supplies, to name just a few. Using Open Educational Resources (OER) may be one answer to help the learner with lower costs, but also help agencies offer more courses at a lower price. This session will provide a basic review of what Open Educational Resources are, where to find them, what different copyright licenses mean and how they may impact your ability to use/reuse OER in an instructional setting. Join us for a discussion on the potential for using OER to expand program offerings, leverage teacher expertise to create materials locally and share resources across consortia and beyond.
