Lunch with LARAEC – Supporting Low Performance, Low Attendance Classes
“Students vote with their feet” is a common phrase in adult education. This presentation will introduce tough conversations about how to identify a low performing class and strategies to support the instructor and students as well as methods to address low performance classrooms. Adult education professionals are all in the generation changing business and as such are required to have tough conversations about student retention and persistence. Students have the desire but also multiple barriers that prevent them from achieving their academic, personal and professional goals. We will discuss institutional strategies to help remove barriers for students.
Presenters: Join the Salinas Adult School Superstars, Ana Mendoza, Miranda Doremas-Reznor, and Maritza Corea-Luna for this important presentation. Together, they bring years of experience in adult education including ESL, IET, and citizenship along with an unparalleled passion for supporting their students.
