Communicating: Starting Communication with Students

This is the first in the “Communicating with Students” series which focuses on how to communicate and stay engaged with students throughout the year.
Intended as hands-on, this session will provide participants with opportunities to practice and share with the facilitator as well as other participants in attendance.
This session will demonstrate the importance of communicating with your students even before they start your class! You will also learn ways to engage all students at least once per class as well as strategies on encouraging students to participate in class.
Homework will be assigned at the end of this session.
Prerequisites:
Participants should:
- have an email account that they open and use during the session* (*be able to receive emails from other addresses),
- have basic computer skills
- know how to open, compose, and reply to an email.
An OTAN Certificate of Attendance will only be awarded to those that have pre-registered and attend at least 75% of the scheduled time.
