Canvas is a web-based learning management system, or LMS. It is used by learning institutions, educators, and students to access and manage online course learning materials and communicate about skill development and learning achievement. The Canvas LMS includes a variety of customizable course creation and management tools, course and user analytics and statistics, and internal communication tools.
This special session covers tools that are used in a number of ways by the VET sector that help instructors develop engaging online and blended learning courses at Vocational and Technical Institutions. Canvas tools for course file management like technical manuals and slide decks, embedding features within the Rich Content Editor to share content with students such as diagrams, schematics and videos will enhance your ability as an instructor to deliver content effectively to your students. Lastly, we will cover the ePortfolio capability of Canvas which will allow your students to save their created content to help them professionally after they graduate from your academic institution.
