Advancing Canvas: Accessibility (A11y)

For those ready to learn beyond the fundamentals of Canvas. Accessibility introduces basic concepts, approaches, strategies, and resources with regard to the creation, design and delivery of Canvas courses that are accessible to all students, including those with disabilities. This session will discuss the following topics as they relate to Canvas:

Screen readers and Canvas
RCE Tools
Tables – scoping & captions
Headers
Color Contrast
Alt Text
Linking vs. Native content
Accessibility Checker
Prerequisites

These training sessions are best focused on instructors with foundational Canvas proficiency that includes:

a solid foundation in Canvas Navigation course tools,
has created assignments, assignment groups, and quizzes,
provided feedback using SpeedGrader.
